The following is a copy of the Outreach Youth Workers Report given at the APCM in April. This was a good opportunity to officially feed back on what had been going onand to share some of the plans I had for the future.

My sister-in-law recently bought my wife and I the complete television series of Cadfael, a medieval who-dunnit set in a Benedictine monastery, which you might remember was filmed in the mid 1990’s and was based on the books by Ellis Peters. (more…)

Youth Round-up: Lent/Easter 08

A Reflective Lent – During Lent a thought that kept returning to me revolved around going with Jesus into the desert. So much so that I made it the theme of some of my youth work – to follow Jesus means going with him to some difficult places. I looked at this with some young people at a local church and also with Bournville School CU. How do we enter into Christ’s resurrection? Perhaps it comes by meeting head-on, with Christ, those things that steal our life from us. Often, that can feel like a very barren place. (more…)
