Youth Round-up: November 2013

New Monday Youth Club – Can I make you aware of our new Monday Youth Club for school years 9-11 from 7.30 – 9.00pm. If you are interested or know of anyone who might be interested, please let me know – I am looking for young people who would like to develop the group and create what it will look like in future! We restart on Monday 11th November.

Mission Academy – Youth Work at the Birmingham Diocese is undergoing a revamp. Catalyst (the quarterly youth event) will stop and a Mission Academy will begin to support and train young people in living out their Christian faith in everyday life – and we hope to be a part of this in the work we do! Felix Smith, our representative on the Bishop’s Youth Council, has played a big part in discerning the future of the work so please pray for him and all involved as they seek God’s guidance.

Youthwork the Conference – Having run Breathe Contemporary Youth Retreat for a number of years, myself and Martin Stand (who leads the holiday with me) have been asked to speak about contemplative prayer and the disciplines that make up Breathe.

Please pray for us as we do this (23rd Nov) and that Breathe remains a resource that young people can continue to access – this is in part because the umbrella body for holidays like ours has unfortunately had to pull out of supporting residential work.

Confirmations – …will be happening on Sunday 17th November at 10am. Please pray for all our candidates and especially our young people as they take this important step on their journey of faith.
